Julian Spain-Ledezma, MS, LMFT-Associate
Supervised by Faith Ray, LPC, LMFT Approved Supervisor
Trained in Gottman Level I
Hello there! My name is Julian Spain-Ledezma and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate. I have a Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family therapy from Our Lady of the Lake university. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!).
Early in my life I served in The United States Marine Corps and continued working for the Deptartment of Defense before starting my academic journey. During this time, I was blessed with the opportunity to work with many different people from the US and other countries, granting me an extensive cultural background.
Since the start of my therapeutic journey, I have worked with families, individuals, and couples. Working with couples has become a passion and a strength of mine. Improving communication, rekindling intimacy, and developing tools to navigate life’s changes are just a few of the benefits that can come from therapy. Additionally, I have worked with many difficulties a person can face in relationships such as communication conflict, intimacy issues, infidelity and/or betrayal, (co-)parenting, and separation and divorce. I also have experience working with alternative relationship styles such as polyamory, kink, long-distance, and open relationships.
I use a variety of evidence-based theories such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Strategic Family Based Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am also training in approaches such as The Gottman Method I&II and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I do my best to create a safe and non-judgmental space where partners can openly express themselves, rebuild trust, and foster deeper emotional connections.
