Kelly has been working in private practice since 2017.  She is an experienced Clinical Supervisor and loves teaching therapists. Historically, Kelly has specialized in systemic, family and intergenerational trauma. She treats sexual abuse, developmental trauma, attachment issues and associated mental health disorders on the anxiety, mood, stress and dissociative spectrum.

Currently, Kelly has delved into the world of couples therapy with the same enthusiasm she has brought to other areas of her life. She is studying and practicing Gottman Couples Therapy which is an evidence based treatment based on science with Krista Miller.

As a clinician, she brings the torch of hope to every couple she works with here at Align.

In her individual therapy, Kelly approaches every client as a whole and healthy being capable of unlimited growth regardless of a diagnosis or a severe history of trauma. Kelly incorporates religion and spirituality into therapy if it is desired by the couple or client.

A southern California girl, Kelly grew up on the sunny sandy shores of Huntington Beach, CA. She spent her youth training in competitive martial arts and spending all her free time at the beach. At 17, she enlisted in the United States Navy days after September 11, 2001. The following eight years she spent her time supporting the U.S. and the Allied Forces efforts in the War on Terrorism in the Intelligence field. These turned out to be formative years shaping her beliefs about teamwork, friendship, leadership and psychology. During this time, Kelly was married and started her own family where she was stationed, San Diego CA.

Kelly received an honorable discharge from the United States Navy after two enlistments achieving the rank of E-6. She quickly earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from National University, 2012 and a Masters in Arts in Clinical Psychology: MFT in 2014 from Azusa Pacific University. During practicum, Kelly completed her clinical hours at The Salvation Army treating addictions. Upon completion of school, she pursued diligently her training in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and has never looked back. From 2014-2018, Kelly treated victims of sex trafficking at Generate Hope in Bonita. During this time, Kelly discovered the enormous power and resiliency within the human spirit and the depth of our ability to grow when provided adequate space and treatment to heal. She treated individuals and families affected by sex trafficking in America while at Generate Hope. She has spent thousands of hours practicing, reading, training and teaching EMDR as one of her greatest passion.

Kelly relocated to San Antonio, Texas in 2022 because she fell in love with Texan life, culture, people and the Gulf of America. She was looking for a peaceful place to settle with her family of four. She is happily married with two children and two adorable Frenchton Dogs. Kelly’s highest life values are growth, presence, choice and compassion. She is highly dedicated to growing as a therapist and woman. A natural optimist, she brings her warmth and hope into every session.

In her free time, Kelly explores the great outdoors and cheers on her 14-year-old son who is a competitive runner. She is an avid weightlifter and meditates daily. You can regularly catch her Stand Up Paddleboarding or free diving at South Padre Island over long weekends and holidays. Kelly lives a healthy lifestyle for a healthy mind and body and encourages her clients too as well .
